Rational Acoustics has announced that a Smaart class will be held at Mid-America Sound in Indianapolis this coming April 22-24.

The 3-day Smaart Operator Fundamentals/Application Practicum class will be presented by Jamie Anderson, and will follow the standard training format with days 1 and 2 covering Operator Fundamentals and day 3 as the optional Applications Practicum. Discounts on Smaart v.7 software are available to class attendees.

The Operator Fundamentals class comprises the material needed to know to use a Smaart rig effectively – it’s the both starting point for learning to use Smaart, as well as the material needed to return to on an ongoing basis and master to become an advanced user.

The class provides:

—A fundamental description of the measurement concepts involved in dual-channel FFT based analysis (as used in our industry)
—A systematic breakdown of how they are realized in Smaart measurement software
—A detailed and hands-on (as possible) examination of the requirements for configuring and controlling a Smaart measurement rig.

The Operator Fundamentals class is CTS Certified for 6.5 renewal units (RUs) in either the CTS General or CTS-I (installation) programs. Go here (pdf) for the full curriculum.

The Application Practicum focuses on the use of the Smaart measurement platform in “real world” professional audio engineer work.  It examines the implementation of the information presented in the Operator Fundamentals – the various measurement capabilities, control parameters, data reading and measurement rig configuration skills – in using Smaart as tool for professional sound system engineering tasks.

The class provides:

—An overview of the Practicum’s example application(s) including both the application goals and standard processes for employing Smaart in that task.

—A review of the Smaart measurement rig being used and an in-depth process for evaluating its functionality (i.e., setting up and checking your Smaart rig).

—A hands-on demonstration of the Smaart application with an in-depth discussion of real-world data interpretation.

Interested attendees can go here for more information or contact Rational Acoustics at +1-860-928-7828.

By the way, Rational Acoustics is also exhibiting at this year’s Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt, in hall 8.0, booth F90, sharing space with iSEMcon Microphones again this year. Both Smaart v.7 and Smaart v.7 Di will be running in the booth
