Members of San Francisco’s nightlife industry recently converged on the historic Castro Theatre for this year’s Nitey Awards, which are local nightlife honors judged by a panel of industry professionals.
At the awards, establishments with Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) loudspeakers claimed three out of six awards given to live music venues. No other audio company represented more than one of the venue award winners.
All winning sound systems were installed by San Francisco’s JK Sound.
Winning venues include:
• Mighty, which utilizes EAW Avalon Club. Two and Sub.Two cabinets for its sound, won for Best Large Dance Club.
• Local indie-rock institution The Bottom of the Hill won for Best Small Live Venue, serving its patrons on a nightly basis through EAW ASR and JFX Series loudspeakers.
• Beaux, which coincidentally hosted the evening’s popular after-party, took the prize for Best New Venue. It’s outfitted with an EAW RS66, a compact alternative to the QX566.
EAW congratulated the winners and other venues in the area using the company’s loudspeakers, including Amnesia, Harlot, Infusion, Rickshaw Stop and Ruby Skye.
