Danley Sound Labs has introduced the SM-80, the latest in the company’s SM Series of light weight, cost-effective, molded-horn loudspeakers.
Tom Danley and the engineering team at Danley Sound Labs created the SM-80 to provide loud yet highly articulate sound from a portable package.
The SM-80 weighs in at 65 pounds, a comfortable mass to perch atop a pole. Together with Danley TH Series subwoofers, a pair of pole-mounted SM-80s is a solution for small to mid-sized live sound and installed sound applications.
Dispersion is 80 degrees x 80 degrees. The SM-80’s frequency response extends from 110 Hz to 20 kHz with 102 dB SPL sensitivity. Its continuous power rating is 400 watts in and 128 dB SPL out, peaking at 1600 watts and 134 dB SPL, respectively.
The single 12-inch coaxial driver and paired horn offer 8-ohm impedance.
Constructed out of 13-ply Baltic birch, the SM-80 measures 25.5 inches high by 24 inches wide by 12.75 inches deep.
MSRP for the new SM-80 is $2,999.
