St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church is an architectural gem owing its inspiration to the Romanesque architectural style of the Basilica di San Zeno in Verona, Italy.

Constructed in 1925, the nearly century old parish holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places.

Conquering the challenge of blending classic Italian architecture with today’s 21st century audio systems can be a monumental task.

This historic landmark required a speaker system that provided clarity of the spoken word, as well as seamless visual integration.

A Community Professional Loudspeakers system consisting of ENTASYS, a three-way, full-range column-array, weather-resistant loudspeaker system, was chosen.

This system includes multiple low frequency, midrange and high frequency drivers, delivering a targeted vertical beamwidth from 800 Hz to 16 kHz.

ENTASYS’ modular design allowed the installer to use multiple full-range columns to create an exceptionally tight focused vertical coverage.

“The ENTASYS system was selected for its quality audio performance and the ability to visually blend with the aesthetics of the hall’s classic architecture,” said Anthony Albano of Avondale, Pennsylvania-based Naamans Creek Audio/Video.

“Intelligibility was key, and the look and feel of the church could not be compromised. Community delivers on both counts.”

Painted with a faux finish to imitate the look of classic marble, the ENTASYS speakers were mounted on support columns on either side of the alter, with additional units midway back in the hall as delay speakers.

“The reviews have been wonderful,” says Albano. “Sit anywhere in the church and you can understand every word of the spoken message”.
