Looking over the drawings, I can,t find a view that dimensions how far the baffle is in from the side. I see that on one of the assembly pictures that it is suggested a six inch scrap spacer be used for baffle alignment and height. So I am assuming that the correct dimension between the side panel and baffle is six inches? The reported height of the speaker is 6.44 inches. So this would mean that the speaker sticks up inside the access hole cutout leaving approx 1/8 inch clearance between the speaker and the access door of 1/4 inch aluminum. Is this correct?

Robert, Correct. It’s a very tight fit for the driver. There is some thermal coupling allowing the aluminum cover plate to sink some heat from the magnet ass’y.
I positioned three dabs of thermal conductive puddy on the magnet before installing the cover.
Do not cover the driver’s rear vent.

Check out the pictures on the website of J R Sound Co. on MY Space. They built a pair in three days except for loading and putting on the finish. All the pics are in bare wood.

When a separate system can’t be had and the channel count allows it, I use the direct outs of each channel that is required in the monitors and run them to spare channels in the desk. I can then avoid eq and inserts on the FOH channel effecting the monitors.
