Audio-Technica Debuts ES945/LED & ES947/LED Condenser Boundary Microphones

Audio-Technica has introduced the new ES945/LED omnidirectional and ES947/LED cardioid condenser boundary microphones, both outfitted with a 360-degree red/green LED indicator ring.

Part of Audio-Technica’s Engineered Sound (ES) line, both new microphones provide clear, highly intelligible audio for video conferencing, teleconferencing, audio recording, and other sound pickup applications. Each mic is protected by a rugged, all-metal case with a dual-layer steel mesh grille, and offers a low-profile design that allows it to be mounted unobtrusively in a tabletop.

Users can locally mute and un-mute each microphone due to a capacitive-type touch-sensitive switch; the red/green LED indicator that encircles the grille alerts user to audio status – it glows green when live and turns red when muted.

These phantom-powered mics are equipped with a 3-pin XLRM output and also include UniGuard RFI-shielding technology for rejection of radio frequency interference. Both models are available in black (ES945/LED, ES947/LED) and silver (ES945SV/LED, ES947SV/LED).

New ES945/LED omnidirectional and ES947/LED cardioid condenser boundary microphones will be available July 2014 with U.S. MSRP of $299 and $320 respectively.
