AKG’s celebration of its 65 anniversary continues with the release of redesigned, limited editions of its K702 headphones and C451 microphone.

With a Titan semi-gloss finish and blue highlights, the limited edition pieces make a nice addition to any studio, whether for show or performance.

AKG’s C451 65th Anniversary Edition condenser embodies sound from the popular C451 EB with the CK1 capsule delivering high quality and precision accuracy.

Since its introduction in 1969, the C451 has been continuously improved and has demonstrated its durability under the harshest onstage environments.

The C451’s transformer-less preamp enables high sound pressure capability, allowing for close miking of high-energy sound sources up to 155 dB SPL without distortion.

The reference small-diaphragm is a solid tool for capturing the smallest details of any instrument due to its lightweight membrane and sophisticated acoustic design, which makes it the good choice for accurately capturing drums, percussion, acoustic guitar and overhead miking. The C451 is listed at an U.S. MSRP of $599.

The K702 Anniversary Edition headphones offer a newly designed genuine leather headband and soft velour ear pads for maximum comfort during long recording or listening sessions.

With its proprietary Varimotion two-layer diaphragm and flat-wire voice coil, K702 delivers pristine sound with superior impulse and treble response.

K702’s reference-style headphones have an over-ear, open-back design, with extremely accurate response. The K702 Anniversary edition is listed at an U.S. MSRP of $649.

“In our seventh decade of setting the industry standard, raising the bar in recording and live audio, AKG is proud to offer our dedicated customers an opportunity to help celebrate our milestone with the limited edition C451 and K702,” states Thomas Stubics, product marketing manager, recording and broadcast, AKG.  “With the limited edition C451 and K702, users with these extraordinary pieces of equipment will enjoy AKG’s ever evolving history, with a sound experience they will never forget.”
